Return not accepted by CRA, Four possible answers but they are all on calculated fields from the T3 info I entered
The CRA has announced systems tax calculator errors that may affect your ability to file. These errors are affecting all CRA certified tax software across Canada.
TurboTax is in direct contact with senior Government of Canada officials at CRA, underscoring the urgent need for accountability and decisive action to resolve these issues for our customers and all Canadians.
If you see one of these error codes, please visit What does my NETFILE error code mean and how do I fix it? .
Thank you for choosing TurboTax
I have had the exact same issue. Going through the forms I think that they are filled out properly but line 12 of chart A of form T936 is mislabelled. I don't know how the e-file works transmitting the data but perhaps that is the issue. I know the forms had been held up because the CRA hadn't finalized them yet.
Try this workaround: enter 100% ownership at the top and then half of all values into boxes for each person. (I also only entered capital gains in box 53, using the same value as line 21, half the total, instead of dividing the time periods.).
Then the values for line 68140 on T936 were correct and agreed with Schedule 3 line 17600, and try to file.
We appreciate your patience.
Hopefully someone will let us know when it's corrected. Somewhat frustrating as process has worked for years and it seems that it's a fairly common issue that should have been caught in original testing.
@ian Alexander We can understand your frustration.
We will update you on this thread once we have a resolution.
We appreciate your patience.
I tried to enter everything from the T3 at half as it was metioned in your Sunday Mar.30 message. But it still did not work. Any other suggestions? Thank you
April 4th...same issue...when will fix be completed? Very frustrating that this has yet to be corrected...!
I had this same issue and used the proposed workaround successfully (manually prorating the entries as half the amounts for each of my wife and myself at 100%). What I also found confusing however is ther are 2 box 21's, 52's and 53's, but only one on each of the T-Slips. I had to experiment by trail and error to see how they behaved. NOT IMPRESSED THAT IT IS APRIL 4 AND STILL NO RESOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE!! The software should be sold with a warning that it is not ready for filing.
I have also received this error code. Went through the 4 corrections suggested in message from CRA. None of them applied to my return, all seems in order. Message also indicates I should return after April 14 to file my return. What else can be done.
One buys a PRODUCT to perform a given TASK. Once the PRODUCT is PURCHASED, one expects to perform the TASK on one's own TIMEFRAME. If the PRODUCT CANNOT peform the TASK, it is considered DEFECTIVE. DEFECTIVE products are RETURNABLE for a REFUND. Waiting until April 14th on the HOPE that the PRODUCT will be FIXED is UNACCEPTABLE.
