Please follow the steps carefully:
Copy the TurboTax file to a portable storage device
- On your original computer, open TurboTax.
- Open the return you want to copy.
- Insert your portable storage media (such as a USB key or portable flash drive) in the appropriate drive or port.
- From the File menu, select Save As.
- In the Save in field, select the drive (e.g., D:Removable drive).
- Click Save.
Restore the TurboTax file to your new device
- Insert the portable storage media with your TurboTax file into the new device.
- On your computer Desktop, double-click My Computer.
- Double-click the portable drive.
- Select the file(s) you want to copy/transfer.
- From the Edit menu, choose Copy.
- Select the folder where TurboTax data files are installed. The default location for these files is C:Documents and Settings User My DocumentsTurboTax2xxx.
- From the Edit menu, choose Paste.
