How can I transfer 2017 file without losing all the inputting of 2018 info? When I transfer it starts afresh.

I entered all 2018 data and then realized the business income info from 2017 missing.  When I click on transfer 2017 file it starts a new return and all that I entered before disappears.  How can I save what I entered before and yet transfer 2017 file?

Importing your data

You must do the transfer when you start the return. There is no way to transfer your info afterwards, without starting a new return.
