I want to enter my investment income in box 13 of my T5 but turbo tax won't allow this. Should I enter the amount in box 14 instead?

No, in box 13 you only need to choose one of the entries by clicking on the arrow. You will choose either Bank interest, Bond interest or Mortgage interest.
