"Other deductions" amount (line 232) does not match any amount I entered. How can I reconcile?

Line 232 is, as you noted, "other deductions." This can include if you had certain legal fees (fees to obtain support payments, eg.) Quite often you will see an amount included here if you received Old Age Security, and/or Employment Insurance, and your income was high enough that a clawback is reflected on the tax return. If such is the case, the amount of the clawback will be deducted from the net and taxable income. For more information, please refer to the following link:
