Quebec taxes
Thank you very much. Your response directly answered all my questions. As you noted, having entered information from his T2202 resulted in his having an S11 (Fed) and a Schedule T (Quebec) generated. This being his first year filing as a Quebec resident, he overlooked the significance of the RL-8 as it has not been relevant in previous years when filing as a Nova Scotia resident.
Per your note, he'll go back into either the "Federal Slips" or "Quebec Slips" section and find the RL-8 entry screen. Then he'll enter the number of terms and the amount shown in Box A. This will result in TurboTax to prompt him in the "Deductions & Credits" > "Students" section to complete Schedule S. He'll then indicate that he wishes to transfer the funds to a parent and enter my name/SIN if/when prompted.
And finally, he'll file an amended return by either first creating an account online (a process in and of itself) or submit a paper amendment using the fillable form available via the link you provided.
Merci beaucoup pour toutes ces informations!
Patrick
