Medical Expenses
Hi,
I entered all of my medical expenses for the 2024 tax year into the Medical Expenses Worksheet. In the end, the total wasn't enough to get a deduction, so it didn’t help my return this year. Is there a way to save this information so I can use it for next year’s taxes? Or will I need to enter everything again from scratch?
Thank you!

If you use TurboTax Desktop again next year, your unused medical expenses will carry-forward when you transfer your info from this year. Then, depending on which 12 month period you choose on your 2025 taxes, you might be able to use your left over 2024 expenses.

Fantastic. Thank you.
Now that I’ve finished entering everything, I have a tiny $10 deduction which I don’t want to use. Where in the easy-step do I make Turbotax *not* use the expenses I’ve entered and carry them over to next year?

Hi again @TurboTaxSusan
Are you sure there's a way to carry forward the unused medical expenses?
It seems TT Premier Desktop can't do that:

@Danid1 We apologize for this confusion, it looks like we can't carry forward medical expenses in TurboTax Desktop. As it is suggested, you can remove all medical receipts and keep them for next year.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
