Filing

Yes, TurboTax for Quebec residents generates and files the TP-1079.8.BE-V form for Revenu Québec (RQ), as well as the T1135 for the CRA, when foreign property exceeds $100,000. While the final filing summary occasionally mentions the T1135, it frequently serves as an umbrella, submitting the necessary provincial equivalent to RQ, as Québec requires both forms for compliance.

When you complete the Foreign Income section, TurboTax asks questions to populate both forms. The T1135 is for the federal government, while the TP-1079.8. BE-V is specifically for Revenue Quebec.

The wording can be confusing, but the software generally prepares both, particularly because in QC, you must file a separate TP1 provincial return.

To be safe, navigate to the final "Print Centre" or "Tax Summary" in TurboTax before filing. Look for both the federal T1135 and the Quebec TP-1079.8.BE-V in the list of documents to be transmitted.

Both forms are due by the same date as your tax return (April 30 or June 15 for businesses)
