I should be okay to sign onto the CRA website, but NO

I tried FOUR times, and I am permitted FIVE times, before (presumably) they lock me out.  I am not a new Canadian citizen.  I have filed taxes for many years with CRA, but never before have I tried to file electronically.  Before I abandon the idea completely, I thought I would ask about whether my Brave browser might be to blame.  It is updated to the latest update, and I made sure cookies are not blocked, and I made sure that scripts are not blocked....  But I still can't sign onto the CRA website.  I have NO CLUE what encryption is used.  But I do use a VPN as a free service provided with my router. 

 

Any suggestions?  Turn off the VPN?   Use MS EDGE browser?  Or just sit down for two days with paper forms?  Yes, that last idea is probably the best one, by far.  But if you can truly help me, I will be oh-so-grateful.  Thanks!!!
