Troubleshooting
Thanks for the suggestion.
Just for clarity, the worksheet did not have any data entered on either my return or my spouse's and when I tried to enter it on my return I continued to get the override warning. I proceeded to enter the data and then when I tried to Net File the system would not accept it.
Finally, when I switched to the worksheet on my spouse's return (where there was no data shown) it permitted data entry and carried the information through to the summary page, allowing the tax credit.
Turbo Tax should have a simple warning that would indicate this. And they should have. aheads up for their support staff since the lady that was trying to help me yesterday clearly didn't understand the problem.
