Ceasing Residence in Canada

Hi - I think the software has significant errors.  I completed a tax return for a family member who ceased to be resident in Canada in 2022.  According to the software, I was advised to report his employment income earned outside Canada after he ceased residence in Canada.  This resulted in a tax bill of $3,800.  The CRA website page for "Leaving Canada (emigrants)", however, says you do the exact opposite - do not report non-Canadian source income for the period of the year in which you were not resident in Canada.  So I deleted this and the tax bill went to $0.  In addition, the software tells you to netfile even if this is your final return due to emigration.  However, in these circumstances, one must file a paper return.
