Refund dropped after adding tuition
- Full-time student
- Refund was looking like $1189.88
- Then entered T2202 for $4247.60
- Refund dropped to $81.18
Why did this happen?

Troubleshooting
What might have happened is that TurboTax claimed the Canada Workers Benefit (CWB) for you at first, however then you entered your T2202 information indicating that you are a full-time student. Full-time students are generally not eligible for the CWB, so it was removed and your refund decreased.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Troubleshooting
Actually, the first time I did it, I arrived at the CWB screen and when I said no, it dropped the refund in the same amount. I scrapped that return and tried again, but didn’t get the CWB screen. Instead, it happened when I entered the tuition. In any event, why would it drop so significantly…it does make sense?

Troubleshooting
@gloworm3 The CWB can be up to $1,428 for a single person depending on your income (more if you are disabled). So, a large drop is quite common when the CWB is removed.
