Troubleshooting

@JEEP3

I totally agree with you that the Schedule 3 form on the CRA site and in TurboTax are now identical, both with ver. 5000 -S3 E(24).

So that means that since February 10, 2025, the CRA has been allowing the Schedule 3 form to be downloaded, printed, filled in by hand, and submitted by mail.

That does not necessarily mean that the CRA is now ready to process mailed in Schedule 3 forms, nor that the CRA is ready to receive electronic submissions of the same form.

In his CTV interview of March 4, reported by Bloomberg News, CRA spokesperson Charles Drouin stated that the CRA would not be ready to receive capital gains related forms until mid March to end March.

So even if the desktop TurboTax software has the latest capital gains forms and has been re-worked to fill those forms properly, that may not mean that TurboTax has been authorized to use Netfile just yet.

However, I agree with you that other tax preparation packages, including TurboTax, have been able to introduce workarounds that allows some tax returns to be Netfiled after removing empty capital gains forms.

And to add additional confusion, as of yesterday, March 14, the CRA website states that TurboTax for Windows has been certified (for capital gains), but not the on-line version or the mobile version ("certification in process").
