Troubleshooting

Thank you for posting a screenshot.  I am a teacher who got 124 back pay also. Now that the form is fixed, do you know if we are meant to leave the bottom box current year 68560 at 0.00 and fill in the 5 prior years based on the letter from the school board, and only put in the total amount on the top in boxes 68518 and 68519? Thank you.

Were you using the Online version?  I am still getting error message

Troubleshooting

I'm using the online version. I no longer get the error message that the total breakdown doesn't equal the principal amount (which I know it does), but the form only works when I enter 0 for 2024 and enter the back pay amounts for 2019-2023 in the prior years box so I was wondering if 2024 should be left blank.

Troubleshooting

If you enter "0" for 2024, does that mean you have to recalculate the total amount (interest + principle)? I am a teacher who received a lump sum from arbitration and saw that some people in this thread are as well. I'm using the online version of turbotax and it doesn't appear to be fixed yet - we shouldn't have to augment our T1198 from our employer to file.

@TurboTaxSusan Is there an ETA on this resolution? I've called and spoke to someone twice and they have been vague with the timeline.

When I enter 0 for 2024, and enter the amounts for 2019-2023 (as per the letter from the school board), they add up to the total lump sum in box 68519. I don't get the error message when I do that, but I'm not sure if leaving box 68560 empty is the correct way to complete the form?

Troubleshooting

Oh. My letter has 2019-2024 filled in on my letter. Do you have an amount in the 2024 box?

No, because we didn't get a form, just a letter that replaces the form so we have to do the T1198 based on the info in the letter. The letter states the lump sum was paid in 2024 and gives the total amount, then lists the breakdown amounts from 2019-2023 that equal the 2024 lump sum when added together.

Troubleshooting

Ohhh. We got the completed CRA form with those years completed. So it’s got all the box numbers and the corresponding year and amounts. Thanks for clarifying. Wish us all luck!
