Net capital loss carry forward done automatically to offset capital gain this year even I dont have to pay any tax, I enter 0 for the amount carried forward from net capital loss carry forward, it worked but override calculated field & cannot net file

Troubleshooting

The reason you are not able to Netfile as Schedule 3 is still locked by CRA and not finalized by yet. Please refer to this link Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?

We do not have any ETA on this yet but as soon a these forms gets finalize we will be updating them in TurboTax for an accurate calculations.

We appreciate your patience.

Thanks for choosing TurboTax.

Troubleshooting

this is not the solution, the program has bugs, it said I do not qualify to net file because I override some calculated field in the loss form, which should not be a calculated field, I just claimed 0 for net capital loss carried forward to current year, actually I have capital gain againt which the program automatically apply the same amount of my net capital loss of other years, I actually dividend tax credit from the dividends I received so I dont have to pay any tax, and no need to claim any amount of my net capital loss of previous years.

Troubleshooting

As mentioned in previous post, Schedule is not ready yet and that is the reason the calculations are not correct. It will be corrected once the form gets finalized by CRA.

Troubleshooting

Aniqua,  I have a capital gain in 2024, and also capital losses carried forward from between 2021 and 2024, but I have enough other deductions to reduce taxes to $0, so that I do not need to use any of the capital loss carry forward in 2024.  So while I would like to over ride the TurboTax calculated field on Loss Worksheet, Step 2, row 7, you are indicating that until the CRA approves Schedule 3 update, the over ride on the Loss Worksheet can not be accepted for net file purposes.  Is this correct?

Troubleshooting

Turbo tax said so,i am still waiting for the update

Troubleshooting

I have forwarded this issue to our development team. The work around is to just put in $0.01 instead of zero.

Troubleshooting

I tried overriding line 6 of Step 2 on the Loss Worksheet, but Turbotax still gave me the message that if I override I would not be able to use Netfile to send my return. I did enter 0.01 in the field as you suggested, and still was not allowed to use Netfile to submit.
