I did the same just now for my wife's return (removing the capital gain and submitting) - it was accepted.
I prepared our returns together and split our Investment income 50/50. My return was filed and accepted March 26th. I tried filing my wife's right after and have been dealing with Error Code 95365 with Turbo Tax and CRA since then. I have had my refund April 10th.
We also had a capital loss on T5008 so effect is on loss carry forward and no effect on my wife's refund.
