moving from old PC to new MAC
I recently bought a Mac mini. All my prior year TurboTax files are on my old PC. I need all my old files as I have been going through a long drawn out saga with CRA and am still waiting for them to respond to my manual T1Adj requests going back to 2011. I may need to open the old software to enter any adjustments they might make that affect my carry forwards.
I can easily copy and paste the PDFs and individual tax files. But I cannot open the individual tax files without that year's version of the software. I have all the licence codes for prior years' software . A previous web search said that the MAC version of prior year software can be downloaded using the licence code. Apparently once the MAC software is downloaded it will be able to open the individual returns which can be recognized by both Windows and IOS.
So today I went and downloaded the 2024 Standard software. It said it was downloading the "365 and Office Installer for MAC". But when I click the EXE file that it downloaded I get an error message saying "Cannot open in IOS". So what went wrong? I cannot even get to the point where it asks for the licence code. And I also want to make sure it is not downloading TurboTax365. I want the desktop versions for MAC. How do I do that? Is there anyone I can call for help at TurboTax?

Troubleshooting
Unlike in the US, there is no Mac version of TurboTax Desktop for Canada. The Canadian version of TurboTax Desktop is only available for Windows (Windows 11 is recommended).
There are ways of getting Windows software to run on a Mac, but we only support TurboTax Desktop on Windows PCs.
