Troubleshooting
If the software is unable to pair individual T5008 and Relevé 18 slips, you may legally group them. Both the CRA and Revenu Québec allow you to enter a summary instead of each individual transaction, as long as the tax treatment (e.g., Capital Gains) is consistent.
Delete your second and third entries.
Edit your first entry to include the total proceeds and cost of all of your stocks together.
It completely eliminates the "form-jumping" and ensures that the RL-18 syncs perfectly with the T5008, as there is only one of each.
Note: Keep your individual slip printouts in case the CRA requests a breakdown later.
If you want to keep them separate, you must remove the "cache" that is causing the second entry to hang:
Delete the second and third entries, leaving only the one that worked.
Close out of TurboTax Online.
Clear your browser's cache or launch a new incognito/private window.
Sign back in and go straight to the T5008 section.
When entering the second stock, enter the date manually (if possible, do not use the calendar picker), and after filling out the last box, click your mouse into a blank area of the screen and wait 3 seconds before clicking "Continue." This causes the background "Auto-Save" to trigger before the page redirects.
