Troubleshooting

Did you use the CRA Auto-Fill service?

Also, on the T5008, make sure you did not accidentally enter Proceeds (Box 21) as Income. Only the gain (proceeds minus costs) should be considered taxable income.

Let's try some troubleshooting steps to fix this.

Go to the T5 and T5008 entry screens for both you and your spouse.

Delete the problematic slips entirely from both profiles. (Look for the "Delete" icon next to the slip in the list).

Go to the Forms Mode (if using the Windows/Desktop version) or the Summary page to ensure those lines are now $0.

Re-enter the slips from scratch for one person only.

When you re-enter the slips, TurboTax handles joint slips in two different ways, depending on the version. To be safe:

Enter the slip 100% under your profile.

Look for the specific question: "Is this a joint slip?" or "What is your percentage of this slip?"

After entering "50%" for yourself, do not manually create the slip again for your spouse. TurboTax should automatically generate the spouse's 50% entry in the background.

If the issue persists, we recommend contacting phone support so they can screen share and investigate it.
