Rental Income calculation glitch
I am a long time TurboTax user and I always do my taxes using the Forms method. For two years in a row now (2023 & 2024 tax years) I have had to contact TurboTax regarding a glitch with the Rental Income form T776 whereby the rental income listed is split 50/50 with my husband (whose tax return is completed together with mine) but when I enter the information on form T776 it does not transfer the 50% share of the income to his tax return. The work around I was given was to go back and re-enter the information using the Easy Prep method. Again this year (2025 tax year) I am entering the information in the Forms method and it is NOT transferring the information to my husband's return. Why, in three entire years now, has TurboTax not been able to correct this problem in the Forms method?!!! You would think that this would be a sufficient timeframe for your programmers to correct this error. I should not have to go back and forth between the two methods just to get the information to show up properly in our returns, especially since we have paid good money to purchase a tax program that we fully expect (and I'm sure the CRA expects) to be able to calculate our information correctly. When is this glitch going to be corrected so that the information can be entered correctly in the Forms method and show up in both returns as it should be doing in the first place?

You don't need to go into EasyStep. You can prepare the T776 for the first spouse, and then select Edit>Forms> Copy/Transfer Form, then Copy to make a copy of the form on the other spouse's return.

Same problems. I'm using easy step, I enter in the information (1 rental with my wife, 1 just mine) and the numbers that come out are totally off. How can I get this to work?

@user17742179397 The fastest & easiest way to do this is to prepare the T776 for the first spouse. then go into Forms mode and then select Edit>Forms> Copy/Transfer Form, then Copy to make a copy of the form on the other spouse's return.

Troubleshooting
There is a problem with the calculations the program does. I was able beat it into submission by going to the forms and deleting the personal % numbers for the rental expenses. I also had to change some cca numbers that the program seems to have entered all by itself. I hope the rest of the program is more reliable than the rental calculations....
