Happy to report that I was able to uninstall the non-functioning 2024 version. I was careful to also remove the default folder(s) where it was installed. I then completed the install without lauching the program. I lauched the program (as administrator) and accepted to prompt to have the updates applied. The updates were successfully downloaded and applied. I satisfied the prompts for the product key and now have Turbo Tax 2024 fully functional.
A happy customer but wonder if maybe my the circumstance I encounterd may have been the result of the required updates from Intuit were archived and I was not patient enough to have them from the archives.
