thanks for the reply. and no way to carry forward the personal information without paying? previous years it would end at no charge if you were low income

This year they provide a completely free version that is really quite decent.  It does T slips, self-employment, and if I recall, investments. Scroll down and try the free one.  Layout is a bit different.  Type what you need into the menu bar and the form pops up.
