You will likely have to get a copy from CRA. Old software is not very cooperative on new operating systems.

2008 Quicktax was never designed for Win 10 and likely can't be updated to do so. You can get all prior year tax packages from CRA. You will just have to do it manually.

You would be best to file separately. Make sure that you match your claims to specific invoices rather than using a 50/50 split. That way, if CRA calls in both of your medical expenses, they will be able to see that there is no double-dipping. Make sure your incomes are on each other's returns.

Yes. The amortization is recorded once on schedule 8 and again on schedule 125. It is taken out once on schedule 1.

The school will send you a T4 or a T4A slip in February. You will need to wait until the 2017 tax software is available and then just enter the slip in the income - slips section.

You can only claim moving expenses to attend school if you received a taxable scholarship, bursary, fellowship, or research grant. Otherwise you are not eligible for moving expenses. If you did receive taxable educational income, there are limits on the accommodation.
