How can I get Turbo Tax to automatically put my left over Disability claim on my spouses return like it says it will do (but does not do)?

I have been eligible for the Disability Tax Credit since 2013 - CRA has my T2201 form and I am approved - but they informed me this year that my husband has never claimed any of my Disability Tax Credit - I have very little income and the program says it will automatically use as much as is needed on my return and transfer the rest to my husbands return - apparently this has never happened and it has always just been on my return - I use Turbo tax and do both mine and his at the same time.  I am wondering how I can get the program to put the Disability amount on his return. And then do I have to refile for every year back to 2013?

If you’re preparing your returns together (sometimes referred to as a joint or coupled return), TurboTax automatically claims the disability amount for the spouse/partner with the disability. If there’s an amount left over, TurboTax automatically transfers this amount to the other person’s return. So, there’s nothing you need to do to trigger a transfer.

If you think our TurboTax software never worked when you have claimed your Disability please contact our customer service so that they can view your return to make sure it worked properly.
