Desktop version. I assume that I have to use forms, not easy fill. Got my first 1198 in, no problems. How do I do a second one?
@TurboTaxSusanThanks! Next question.... If I do the T1198s in "forms" and the rest in "easy step," is that okay? Will it all combine together in the end?
The form in turbo tax doesn't work.
The form doesn't show up in easy step.
The only way to safely file is through mail.

I've entered all my T1198 info correctly and it was accepted by TurboTax, however, my refund amount did not change. Is it supposed to ? Does TurboTax have access/use my previous years income amounts to be able to determine the adjustment automatically or does this info simply get sent to CRA and they will do a refund adjustment for me at a later date? I've called a few times and can't really seem to get an answer from anyone. so I would appreciate some clarification on this. Thank you.
the adjustment for previous years is something that the CRA will calculate based on information
it has from previous years tax filings. IT HAS NOTHING TO WITH TURBOTAX.
Filing a T1198 just informs the CRA that they will need to do extra calculations for the previous years.
If you ask me, it would have been just a well to tax the retro income as this years income and get on with life !!
Still waiting for a definitive answer re form T1198. Has the situation been rectified? Last time I checked there was not even a box in the profile to indicate there was a QRLSP. Why? It was there previously but no followup screen where you could enter the 1198 information. Please help.
@Aybee Yes, you can complete part of your return in forms mode and the rest in easy steps.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
When you say you submitted your T1198 after Netfiling, how did you submit it? I haven't done my taxes yet but am wondering if I will be prompted to include the form. Thanks
