I have turbotax now, do I upgrade each year so I don't have to pay for each return I do?

I was hoping I could get a rate for 5 returns instead of paying for each return.

The returns for every year are different due to changes in amounts in deductions or changes in credits and allowances from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). You will need to get a different tax year return for each year.
