I'm self employed, can I claim courses that were required to get a contract (safety, wildlife certificate, H2S)?

If you have received a T2202, you can't claim them as business expenses. However, you can claim the tuition amount and the Canada Training Credit.

If you haven't received a Tuition slip, and they have a long-lasting benefit,  you can claim them as capital expensure (CCA) under your business.

I hope this was helpful
