so if all the amounts im inputting are correct.. what could it be.? I'm self employed, as soon as i type in the income it say $8000 tax due! with my deductions it comes down to $6000.. i have tried 2 times, same results!!

If you live in Ontario, your tax payable on a total $35000 taxable income (line 260j would be around $7000 before credits. This is federal plus provincial al. You also have Ontario health premium. Take away your Personal credit and you would owe around $6000, Check your entries and make sure you are using an updated software version.

I live in BC. We pay MSP separately. My partner earned about $6,000 less than me however paid $4000 less in tax.. So i somehow lost 2/3rd of the extra money i made? I will go back and double check everything though! thanks for your help 🙂

Some of the forms may not be finalized yet. Wait until Feb 18th and do and sign back in please. (CAA on self-employment being one of them) Also, as a self-employed individual, you are required to pay both the employer's and employee's portion of CPP.
