Codes 454300 & 454390 will no longer work for 2022. Direct Sellers must now choose codes based on what they are selling.
Some examples are:
Avon: 456120 - Cosmetics, beauty supplies and perfume retailers https://bit.ly/3F0tDM2
Discovery Toys: 459120 - Hobby, toy and game retailers https://bit.ly/3ZmkMw5
Epicure: 445298 - All other specialty food retailers https://bit.ly/3miWiW0
Isagenix: 456191 - Food (health) supplement retailers https://bit.ly/3SQSbNa
Pampered Chef: 449129 - All other home furnishing retailers https://bit.ly/3SRZcNB
Scentsy: 459999 - All other miscellaneous retailers. https://bit.ly/3YvS37b
Thirty-One Gifts: 458320 - Luggage and leather goods retailers https://bit.ly/3SUGCED
If you need to find a code that's not listed in the examples, please visit the NAICS website here: https://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3VD.pl?Function=getVD&TVD=1369825
The NAICS codes appear to be American (USA) and none on the website show electronic (web) sales such as ETSY. Last (and previous) years' Industry code of 454110 continues to be rejected by TurboTax, yet the Industry Code on the CRA website still shows as 454110.
Standing by to NETFILE. Help me out? Deadline looms.
@zaphod3834 NAICS is used by both the US & Canada. The link I gave above is from Statistics Canada. The ones on the CRA website are only to be used if you are filing your return on paper.
And again, you must choose your code based on what you sell, or use 459999 - All other miscellaneous retailers (except beer and wine-making supplies retailers) if there is nothing else that fits better.
