Moved Provinces

I moved from BC to SK in November and when I'm entering my taxes, as soon as I enter that I moved provinces, my rebate dropped almost $1000. Is that normal? I called CRA and they said I have to use a different tax form for each province. Does TurboTax have different provincial forms? $1000 seems extreme for almost 2 months of work in SK. Thank you.

Moved Provinces

Depending on which province you were living in as of December 31, 2022- this is the province in which they will calculate your credits and taxes. When you move to another province it can bring down the amount as some credits may not be accepted in another province. Also when entering a T-slip from another province- this can have an impact also.

TurboTax will calculate everything properly as long as you entered the proper date of your move- as it will ask to which province.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
