My mom claims me on her taxes. Can I claim her as she has a mental disability and she depends on me to do things for her?

The disability tax credit (DTC) is a non-refundable tax credit that helps persons with disabilities or their supporting persons reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay.

If a dependant is eligible for the Disability Amount Tax Credit but does not claim all of that amount on their income tax return, they may be able to transfer the remaining amount to you if you're their caregiver.

Because she has claimed you as a dependent click here to see if you qualify for the Canada Caregiver Amount.
