Thank you for your feedback on how to enter the claim correctly.
I would also join in taking legal action. I have gotten no where by calling them
Like many others here, I’ve been reassessed by the CRA resulting in many thousands of dollars owed (interests and refunds) due to the Turbotax bug on taxes filed from 2021 - 2023. I used TurboTax with the Assist & Review service, which should have caught this error—yet the software not only allowed the claim, it provided no warnings or eligibility checks that reflected CRA standards.
After being reassessed, I followed all the steps: contacted support, submitted a claim under the Accuracy Guarantee, and provided all relevant documentation. Yet weeks have passed with no follow-up, no clarity, no accountability.
Meanwhile, I’ve already purchased TurboTax 2024, and frankly, I NO longer trust the product. Until this issue is addressed transparently, I will be requesting a full refund and advising others to avoid this platform for their tax filings.
I want to be clear:
🔸 This is not a user mistake – this is a systemic failure and bug in TurboTax’s logic and quality assurance.
🔸 I am considering escalating this matter publicly through news agencies and CRA.
🔸 I am also open to joining any legal action or class proceeding. If others are organizing, please count me in.
TurboTax owes it to its customers to acknowledge, correct this generally with CRA, and compensate for the interest and inconveniences. The Turbotax silence is unacceptable and the Snail mail 100% Accuracy process is deliberately design to frustrate and punish their paying customers.
I agree and think this issue needs to be escalated to the media, especially since the lack of the response from Turbo tax. I am happy to chat about how we can move forward with this and get other people involved,
This is the response I finally got from TurboTax.
Navigate to this URL:

Look for section B, SUB SECTION 2
I paid my outstanding balance with the CRA and wrote them a letter explaining the situation and asking for relief on the interest charge.
Unfortunately, they said to pay it and wait for a response. I don't expect a response for at least 6 months.
I think that TurboTax should be responsible to refund the interest if the CRA refuses to do so.
They need to take responsibility for their error and simplify the process for getting a refund.
I planned on calling today, but don’t feel great hearing the responsiveness from the CRA here.
Definitely needs to be brought to the media, and if there is a class action law suit, I’m ready for it. Many of our taxpayers rights have been violated.
I created a facebook group called Turbotax ON479-A Care Tax Credit Error. If people wanted to join as to communicate easier amongst each other.
We have been hit by penalties for the same issue and would be open to joining in any legal action as necessary
Great idea! Just requested to join, others should do the same!
Hi there, I would also like to join the FB group pertaining to this TurboTax error CARE credit 2021 error. Where can I find this group? Thanks
