If you are receiving a "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" message while trying to install TurboTax 2022 from a CD, it is likely that the CD is either damaged or corrupted. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the CD. Make sure you clean it from the center to the edge, rather than in a circular motion. Also, check the CD for any visible scratches or marks that could be causing the error.

  2. Try installing the software on a different computer or a different CD/DVD drive on the same computer. Sometimes the CD drive itself can be the problem.

  3. Please try installing using the download. You can download the current version of TurboTax CD/download edition here:  Choose the 2022 TurboTax edition you need (for Windows).

Thank you for replying. Late yesterday I was able to resolve the issue & download the cd. It was either one or a combo of activities. I ran Check(disk) in File Explorer, routine maintenance, then rebooting the computer. Don't know which did the trick but I was able to register with the cd & am now doing input on Turbotax. Thanks again for taking the time to reply. Cheers.
