To better assist you, can you tell us exactly what is the product you bought: Online or Desktop? And which Edition (example: Deluxe)?

If you bought TurboTax Online, you can activate this code only one time, in one account with this link. Depending on the version of the product purchased (e.g. Deluxe), as long as you haven't upgraded or added extra services such as Revue-Conseil, you won't have to pay anything. On the payment page, you'll be asked if you wish to apply the declaration to the code, but this code cannot be used to reduce the payment amount.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

I bought Turbotax basic at staples store for use on my laptop.

Why the additional $60 fee at checkout?

@slkobelak Have you installed TurboTax Basic on your Windows computer and entered the license code? Or have you started preparing your return online product?

If that is the case, you can pay for the return you have prepared and request a refund for the store-bought product by using the online refund link.

Or you can download the product and start your return again in the right product that you have already purchased from the retail store.
