We have different types of tax situations. What edition do we select to download?

Which product do we download?

• We will be filing more than one return.
• One of the returns is for first time self-employed so there will be a need to identify the operation of business is starting out and subsequently at a loss.
• Other returns are the considered normal or standard.

You can use any TurboTax product to file your tax returns, regardless of the tax situations. The choice depends on how much help and guidance you would like to have. I have four returns to file. One requires the Premium Turbo Tax and the other three just require the Basic version. What is my least expensive option?

The least expense option would be to use TurboTax Basic CD/Download to do all four returns. However, Basic only has a simple interview, and most of the time you will be inputting info directly into forms.  

Another option would be to use TurboTax Online instead. You can use the free version for the simple returns and then Premier for the more complex one. However, if the person with the complex return has a spouse and they do their returns together, then both will be charged the Premier price, and that will come close to the price of just getting TurboTax Premier CD/Download, which will do 12 returns (with a net income of above $25,000).
