Perhaps I did not word this properly. For years, in December (or so) we would receive an email from Intuit to pre-order TurboTax Canada which we did and usually received approx 20% discount. IN about January we could download the .exe onto our desktop PC and start working on our taxes. Suggested discount via commercial banks are NOT for us - "online" taxes only.

SO, my question should have been "did Intuit/TurboTax stopped offers to very, very long time customers at a discount for software to be downloaded onto my PC"

It seems that it is not only groceries that have gone crazy in prices, even software such as TurboTax

No, Intuit has not officially stopped offering desktop software discounts, but the manner in which they are distributed has become significantly less predictable. 

While it appears that everything is becoming more expensive, we do still offer various promotions from time to time. If you don't see one in your inbox, the best place to look for a discount is at major retail stores. They frequently lower them to remain competitive with one another.

Yet another unjustified price increase and no discounts. After 20+ years I'll be switching to a competitor product.

Unfortunately, any discount emails are sent out by the marketing department, and so we can't say when an email has gone out or to whom. You might want to double check your spam/junk folder to see if anything ended up there.

Also, you may want to check with your bank or other financial institutions as they sometimes offer a discount on TurboTax to their clients. Some employers also offer a discount, particularly ride-share type companies.
