Why is it asking me to pay for my balance owing when I filed as spousal and combined we get a credit?

When finalizing our combined spousal return it asked me how do I want to pay for balance owing, when combined we get a refund owing.

No. Unlike in some other countries, Canada doesn't have joint filing for spouses/partners. Each return is separate, and so if one spouse has a refund, they can't use it to pay the other spouse's taxes owing.
