The Canadian 2026 TurboTax does work on Windows 10.

It is best for you to have the extended Win 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) either through paying for it or getting it free (search "Win10 ESU"). BUT TT2026 does not work on EVERY Win10 installation as was in my case. I ended up getting DLL issues that TT support was unable to work out (arghh). I ended finally getting Windows 11 installed on my PC using a bypass (Flyby11) as my CPU (I7 7700) is one short on the list of the CPU requirements. BUT, as Flyby11 tested, my CPU can execute certain advanced/newer instructions required and Flyby11 gave me a "very high" chance of success on its test before installing Win11. Worked like a charm and now I was able to install TT2026 on my new Win11 installation.
As i have mentioned here a few times, i installed and successfulkt submitted 6 tax returns with netfiles in Canada on Windows 10.
The install messes up the drivers for the microsoft C++ redustribution files. So i uninstalled, not repaired, those and all was good. I out the link somewhere in earlier threads to download the latest. They are all backwards compatible. And set it to run as administrator in the shortcut.
Yup, I tried updating, uninstalling and re-installing all the C++ libraries I had and even manually renaming/deleting some DLLs before the multiple installs but it never worked for me. I was lucky to be able to get my Win 11 in. What a mess.
As an early subscriber on this topic I continue to follow the discussion trail with interest.
I operate an ageing HP desktop using Windows 10 and have successfully installed T.T., making sure that ESUs are in place. It has worked seamlessly.
My only complaint is a large tax bill due to realised capital gains - can't blame T.T. for that!!!
@JOCAR, thanks for the feed back. TurboTax TY 2025 desktop version is compatible with Windows 10 however we recomend to use Windows 11. We have Windows 10 users who successfully installed and filed their return using TurboTax TY 2025.
