Filed 2024 via TurboTax Online (no backup, only PDF). Now using Desktop (Costco license activated)—can’t import prior year. How to transfer data?

Unfortunately, you can't import your previous tax year's data from TurboTax Online to TurboTax Desktop. TurboTax Online can't export anything other than a PDF file, and TurboTax Desktop can't open PDF files. Only .ttxx files.

Thank you for the quick response. Is there a way to use the same license online that has already been activated on the desktop version? There have been no returns filed under this license yet.

TurboTax Online and Desktop codes are not interchangeable. You can request a refund for the product by completing this online request form.  

How do I get a refund for a TurboTax product?

You can purchase TurboTax Online (DIY) directly from Intuit using this link: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/tax/software/online OR from any retail store.
