Good initiative !
Thanks for the alternative. Here are my comments...
I did consolidate my 103 slips (T5008) into 8 groups (by security), as suggested somewhat.
First of all: this was very time consuming: for each of these groups, I still had to sum the numbers of shares, the proceeds of disposition ($$) and the cost ($$).
Then, when I filed through Imponet, it did absolutely require a disposition date , otherwise I would have had to send a paper version!
Lastly, this labour intensive regrouping of slips is, in the end, an alternative that is not entirely accurate, nor attractive. It would be nice to have this "prefill" feature work after so many years!

Ya I will not be getting Turbo tax next year
They have become too arrogant in thinking their software is God's gift to man. The software is virtually the same as last year and yet their prices go up every year, but instead of a working software, now it has import problems. One has to wonder what else is malfunctionning.
I got in touch with the support too, and we discovered ALMOST EVERY form that was being imported had missing data or corrupted data. One Y3 form had multiple entries, as listed on the back side of the paper form (summary of investments through the same company) and yet the imported values were taken in part from various lines. Like cell 49 from one line, 52 from another line and so on. Other forms were also incomplete. Values were also found in some incorrect cells. I found myself having to enter in all manually. What am I paying for then if I can't count on the software to do the job.
This is not just a minor oversight that can be overlooked or through a small correction. This is ALL the forms being imported and imported INCORRECTLY.
I also tried it on 3 different computers. Same faulty unreliable results. And the worst part is, the erroneous values were IDENTICAL in all 3 cases.
Troubleshooting was WORTHLESS on the side of TT support, and I know quality troubleshooting as I used to work in call centers for 18 years and script readers are HARDLY worth calling troubleshooting agents. But they are not to blame. The system today in most call centers is so bad. Hire dumb, train like parrots. "Walk and talk as we say. Don't take initiatives; don't circumvent our rules of support". WRONG ATTITUDE. Teach your agents to TAKE INITIATIVE and motivate them to CARE about the support they give.
Well Intuit just lost another customer. ME!
