Can I claim OEPTC if I only pay a portion of our rent? The lease is under my brother's name, so I give my rent portion to him.
You can't claim payments to relatives or friends who are not reporting the payments as rental income on their returns. So, if you are not on the lease, and you are not renting from your brother, then you can't claim OEPTC.
