In order to calculate credits based on income, your will need to report all of your income, even amounts you made while you were not in Canada. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will only tax you on income that you earned while in Canada, and the US/Canada tax treaty means that you will not be taxed on income that was already taxed in the US.
