Does Turbotax Primere provide more credits/refunds compared to filing with Standard or its just easier user interface? I do have rental income and some investment income.

It is a similar interface to Standard, it just provides more guidance on topics like rental income and investments. It is doing all the same calculations and using the same forms, so you should get the same results if you put in the same information.
