my son is on ODSP and pays rent . Where do I put this rent payment? tried both Federal and provincial, put in as topic but the option is not available?

It is in the provincial section. After the page where you get all the checkboxes, there's a page that asks if you want to claim the Ontario Trillium Benefit. The rent credit is part of the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit (OEPTC).
