When you take CCA on a vehicle related to rental properties, it’s separate from other expenses, even though it still works to reduce your rental income. The reason for the separation is that you can’t uses a CCA claim to create a rental loss. You also can’t claim CCA if you already have a rental loss, or if your rental income is already at zero.

So you may not be seeing the CCA do anything because your rental income is already at zero or already in a loss position.

You can also go back and double check the amount of CCA being claimed by clicking on the Income tab and choosing Rental Summary, then Edit the property with the CCA claim.
