My daughter who is was 17 at the time of attending a theatre program last year and I discovered that to be eligible for the arts credit, the dependent has to be 16 years or younger.
Is there anywhere I can now apply this program amount on our tax return? It wasn't a camp or child care, but the program ran 16 weeks at a community center.
As you have discovered, you are not able to claim the Arts Amount credit. As to child care expenses, your daughter would have to be under 16 at some time in the tax year, unless she was mentally or physically infirm.
