Can I claim snacks and drinks on top of meal allowance for a long haul truck driver?

As seen in our TurboTax article Eligible Meal and Lodging Expenses for Truck Drivers, you are allowed to claim up to $69 per day. The amount for snacks and drinks needs to be included inside the meal allowance.

For more information about making this claim, please see the Canada Revenue Agency example in their link about Meals and lodging.

Our TurboTax FAQ Where do I claim meal, lodging, and employment expenses as a transport employee? will give you additional guidance.
