If your registration fees are not on your T4, it can be deduct on professional dues section. Depending on the software you use, the steps are different.
If you're using TurboTax Desktop
In Form mode:
- Please click on the T-Slips tab at the bottom of the page
- Select Receipts
- Complete the Union dues paid receipt.
In EasyStep mode:
- In the Personal Tax Profile, please answer YES to the question: Do you have any employment-related expenses?
- Selected I have paid union or professional dues....
- Then, in the section Deductions and credits // Profile of your payments for 2024, select Union, professional dues
- Complete the Membership Fees page for union or professional dues.
If you use TurboTax Online:
- From the Home page, search for Union or professional dues // select
- Complete the Union or Professional Dues page
NOTE: the information will be entered in your Deductions section, accessible from the Home page.
