I'd like to use TurboTax Deluxe to do returns for friends. Can the 8 returns be for anyone, or do the others (besides me & my wife) have to be immediate family?

You can use TurboTax Deluxe for anyone, including friends and family members who are not immediate family. However, the code for this product will only work in one account. You will have to give your login information to your friends, if you want to share your returns with them. But then they will not only be able to see your information, they would also be able to change things as well. 

We don't recommend sharing your login information.
