You should be able to claim dues and licenses if they are required for employment. CRA has information at this link. CRA can ask for information to indicate the expense meets the requirements for the claim. If you think it is a valid expense to claim you should report it on your T1. CRA will likely examine the expense again this year to see if its valid. If the CRA rejects it again this year you can determine whether or not to make the claim next year based on the CRA criteria.
